Admissions Procedure

If you are looking to secure a place for your child(ren) at our school, please phone the County Admissions Team on 0845 155 1019 or e-mail

You will be given a copy of the Devon County Council Admissions Form, which must be completed & returned to them as soon as possible. Please then also contact the school office to obtain an admissions pack which has additional information for our school. Please don’t wait to hear from DCC Admissions before contacting us as the sooner we can obtain the information we need from you the better and we can avoid any delays in your child starting once a place has been offered.

Once we have received confirmation from Devon County Council that your child(ren) have been offered a place, we will arrange a date for the child(ren) to start.

Whether you are interested in your child joining us in our main intake into Year 3 each September or at any other time, families are always more than welcome to come along and visit us. If you would like to make an appointment to visit, please contact Lesley French here at the school.

Admissions Policy

Devon County Council is responsible for our Admissions Policy because we are a Voluntary Controlled school which is funded by the Local Authority. We take part in their Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme which helps parents to make applications for admission to school. Parents can apply through Devon for both in-year admissions and for the normal round of annual admissions.

If there are vacancies in our school then all children are welcome to join us. If we are oversubscribed, then children may still be welcome but priority is given to particular groups. These are known as oversubscription criteria and are only used when the school is oversubscribed. Devon County Council have an appeals process should you not be offered the place/s you wish. For full details of this and all Devon County Council’s current admission arrangements, please look at Devon’s Co-ordinated Admissions Schemes. This policy is reviewed every year in the Council’s annual consultation in December and January and welcomes the views of the local community.
