Mental Health & Well-Being

Welcome to our Mental Health & Well-Being page! Pupil, parent and staff well-being is important to us.  That is why we invest a lot of time and resources in promoting it and supporting it.  Pupils have the chance to learn about their mental health and what they can do to take good care of it, we have a pastoral team that works with pupils and their families and we take great care of our staff (because they take great care of us!)

There is information, news and other resources below that will support our community's well-being.

A Place2Be

Here at Ilfracombe Church of England Junior School, we are lucky enough to work in partnership with Place2Be, a children and young person’s mental health charity. They provide incredibly valuable services within our school setting to support both our pupils and their families.

Below is a brief introduction from the practitioners we have working here.

Hello everyone, my name is Gaynor, and I work for Place2be as the mental health practitioner/ counsellor in your school. I work with children, one to one and in groups to support their mental health and wellbeing. Life can be hard and confusing at times, my aim is to provide a safe space where children can explore their feelings and learn about themselves, developing their confidence and self-belief.

Hi everyone, my name is Fern and I am the Family Practitioner at Place2Be. I work with families to strengthen relationships, facilitate positive time together, and work on addressing any challenging behaviour at home. I am available to offer support and guidance to parents across a range of behavioural issues.

Please get in touch via parentsupport@ilfracombe-jun.devon.sch.uk  if you would like to learn more about this service.
