Religion and Worldviews
Religion & Worldviews
At Ilfracombe Church of England Junior School, we study Religion and Worldviews to explore some of the major world religions, including Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. We also examine non-religious worldviews and encourage our pupils to begin developing their own. Through this subject, we invite children to engage with life’s big questions, such as: “How and why do people try to make the world a better place?” Pupils are encouraged to explore what people believe and how these beliefs influence the way they live.

Religion and Worldviews supports our pupils in making sense of religion and belief by reflecting on their own ideas and values, helping them to form their individual worldviews. It also promotes understanding, respect, and tolerance of different traditions, lifestyles, and cultures—fostering a community where everyone can live peacefully side by side.
