4TS Trip to Simonsbath

4TS had a fantastic action-packed residential trip to Simonsbath House last week. On the first day, we played team games on an assault course, and tried archery, climbing, land-rafting and a zip wire. After a delicious dinner, we went on a torch-lit night walk and built shelters as it got dark! Although some of us were a little nervous before, we all stayed overnight and had a huge cooked breakfast in the morning. On the second day, we learned all about the River Barle and then went for a river walk along its banks. We were able to spot many of the features of the river which we had learned about in our Geography lessons. Before going back to school, we carried out some experiments in the river exploring the speed of the flow and the size of the stones on the river bed. Some of us explored how much water we could get in our wellies!
