As part of our Geography work, learning about the oceans, we went to visit Westward Ho! and the famous 'pebble ridge.' We went for a walk along the sand dunes and identified the different coastal features that we have been learning about in class and noticed that this area has experienced coastal erosion at a faster rate than other areas. In Religion and World Views, we have been learning about what it is like to be a Muslim living in Britain. The pupils have been so interested in learning about the religion of Islam and understanding the importance of respect and tolerance. As part of our learning, we had a visit from Khadeja, who is a Muslim living in North Devon. For our PSHE unit, Year 5 are focusing on Careers and Aspirations. To fully immerse ourselves in the topic we had a day of looking at what careers are, what we would like to do and how we get into each career. We had some parents come in to talk to us about their careers. It was very informative, and the children really enjoyed finding out information from those that were in the roles. A big thank you to those parents that gave their time.

The Year 5 Spelling Bee Grand Final   Each Year 5 class held heats leading up a ‘Class Final’, with all children in all classes showing great confidence at being able to attempt to spell any and every word that was given.  In the end, in each Year 5 class, a winner was found: Lennox Stone, Oscar Barnes and Sirat Kaur.   So that stage was set for the Year 5 Spelling Bee Grand Final.   All three children were given three words from the Year 5 and 6 Spelling list, and at the end
