Walk-about for Year 6

In Year 6 as part of our current English sequence, we have been reading Ice Bear by Jackie Morris. Next week, children will be writing their own stories based on the book.

To help them come up with their best stories, we would like to use our wonderful seaside as inspiration for their writing.

With this in mind, we are setting a home learning task for children to spend some of their weekend on a ‘walk-about’ around the harbour and seafront. Children will be given some resources to help them collect information about what they see and hear. All the information they collect will go towards building the setting and atmosphere in their own stories.

To ensure they remain safe and at a safe distance from other members of the public, please ensure they are accompanied by an adult.

They should bring the information they collect to school on Monday 19th October.
