Year 3 have been linking our Ancient Egyptian topic to our writing in English over the last few weeks. We have spent time learning about the mummification process so that we can use this in our independent writing based on our blueprint. Our current text is ‘Ask Dr K Fisher about Minibeasts’. In this text, creatures write letters to Dr K Fisher who is an agony aunt. The author uses humour and a variety of sentence types to help us learn information through the letters and Dr K Fisher’s replies. We have really enjoyed it!
By applying the use of various skills that help inform our reader, we have created some of our own versions based on a recently mummified Egyptian and a response from Anubis.
