As we move into Summer Term, we are now beginning to take steps to ease our Year 6 pupils into transitioning to secondary school.
For those pupils moving on to Ilfracombe Arts Academy, I would like to confirm a number of events which will be happening at Ilfracombe Juniors over the next few months to make sure everyone feels ready and excited.
- The week beginning Monday 24th May, the Ilfracombe Arts Academy SEND and Pastoral Team will visit to meet classes and supported SEND pupils.
- Wednesday 9th June – Mr Tilley (Year 7 Head) and Lorna Young (Pastoral Coordinator) will come and meet classes, give a presentation about life at Ilfracombe Academy and hold a ‘Question and Answer’ session with the pupils.
- Teachers and support staff from both schools will be meeting over several sessions to pass on key pupil information to ensure transition runs smoothly.
Ilfracombe Arts Academy will confirm information about additional planned transition events. We hope that pupils will be able to spend time at Ilfracombe Academy this term. More information about Transition Days will be confirmed once any COVID 19 guidelines have been updated by the government.
