In computing this term we have been focusing on digital literacy (using a computer) as well as computer science (programming).
For digital literacy, we have been practicing our typing skills. We have been using a great resource from the BBC called BBC dance mat typing. (https://www.bbc.com/bitesize/articles/z3c6tfr). This helps with our hand positioning and posture.
After learning these skills we moved onto our programming part of the curriculum. We have been using Scratch to aid us in improving our computer science knowledge. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/editor/?tutorial=getStarted
Scratch is a website where children can program their own interactive stories, games and animations. Children drag and drop blocks to create actions for their character to do. Children learn how to control the speed of an animation or keep track of a score in a game they are creating. At the moment, we are learning how to create a dance routine.
