Year 3 Learning About Ilfracombe

In Geography this term, Year 3 have been learning even more about Ilfracombe and why it is here. We have been looking at the human and physical features of Ilfracombe to understand more about the elements that make up an environment, considering what is natural and what is man-made. We are starting to think about how the features of Ilfracombe serve a purpose for the community, linked to tourism and seasonal trade. We visited Ilfracombe Museum to explore different maps and compare images of Ilfracombe from different time periods. As we walked around the area, we noticed that a lot of Ilfracombe’s architecture is dated back to the Victorian era or inspired by it.

Have a look at some of our lovely pictures from the visit!
