In Geography, year 5 have looked at different coastlines. Before half term we went to Hele beach and more recently we have been to Westward Ho! to compare coastal features. At Westward Ho! we noticed a much bigger bay than Hele, a pebble ridge made of smooth stones and sand dunes, unlike Hele where we found cracks in the base of the cliff, caves, an arch and rock pools. We discovered that Westward Ho! was made from softer rock and Hele bay was made from harder rock, which created different features.
After we had walked along the pebble ridge, we built sculptures in the sand of the coastal features we had been learning about.
