We are focusing on drawing, with fruit as our inspiration. In our class, we were REAL artists - we set up a still life with pineapples, oranges, bananas and mushrooms (at the end of the lesson, we ate them all)! This week we will be learning about the key elements of art: line, form (shape), texture and tone. The elements of art will help us to communicate and capture the fruit in a realistic way.

Art is all about letting ideas and thoughts come out on to your page. In school, we encourage the children to experiment and explore, without worrying what the outcome is, with an explosion of colour or shape.

Something to try at home… To encourage the wonderful budding artists at home, try painting to music and see what wonderful creations you come up with!
