A message from the National Trust Woolacombe, Croyde and Morte Ranger team:
Can you help us plant 8,000 trees on this weekend?
This will boost connectivity for wildlife and biodiversity as well as storing carbon and slowing the flow of water. This weekend is part of an effort to plant 22,000 trees this winter around Woolacombe.
We're trying a new method of tree planting (so we don't have to use plastic tree guards), which involves scrapping back the grass and planting directly into the soil. This will mean that the site will be very muddy and won't be that easy to walk over.
Please park or walk to Marine Drive car park nr Woolacombe and then follow signs to the site (a 0.5km walk). The day finishes at 3pm or you can leave when you'd like to.
Please bring warm and waterproof clothing, welly boots, lunch and drinks. There are no toilets on site.
If you have a spade please bring one (it would be really helpful if this is clean).
Dogs are welcome.
