In October, Year 4 went on a local river walk. We followed the East Wilder River from Bicclescombe Park, which is close to its source, to its mouth at Wildersmouth Beach. As the river left the park, it disappeared under the road and reappeared between houses, buildings and carparks at different stages until it reached the beach. We observed the source, tributaries, the confluences where tributaries met the main channel, meanders (man-made) and the river mouth. And then we walked back up the hill to school!
