Bar Modelling and Place Value

In Year 3 over the last few weeks, we have been working on bar modelling. We have been looking at bar modelling to aid in our understanding of addition and subtraction. Using a bar model we can work out the whole (the top bar) by adding the two parts (bottom bars) together. This information can then help us write four addition and subtraction number facts.

We have been also using an abacus and place value counters to further increase our place value knowledge.
