In Religion and World Views, our Year 3 pupils have been learning about Jewish beliefs and practices. The children explored Jewish ideas about God, sin, and forgiveness, and discovered why Yom Kippur is such an important and meaningful time in the Jewish calendar.
They learned that Yom Kippur is a day for reflection, saying sorry, and making a fresh start, helping them to understand the importance of forgiveness and personal responsibility. The children were also fascinated to learn that the Talmud teaches Jewish people to say thank you 100 times a day, encouraging gratitude in everyday life.
Inspired by this learning, pupils reflected on all the things they are thankful for in their own lives. As a final outcome, they created thoughtful thank you cards to express their gratitude.'
