On Friday 30th November, our whole school choir opened the Christmas Fair, singing a range of carols and festive songs. Parents and friends flocked into the hall to see some of our youngest pupils performing in the choir for their first time, alongside some of our more experienced singers in Years 5 and 6.
Singing in Latin for the opening song, then a carol in two part harmony and a beautiful carol called 'The Gift', we finished our warm welcome to all visitors with a rousing sing along 'We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.' This was a wonderful way to start the festive season and we look forward to the choir singing again at the carol services on 18th and 19th December.
There were craft stalls in the hall, games in the gym and the raffle ticket sellers did a roaring trade.
We would like to thank the following business for donating to the raffle: Co-op, Yard 88, Nails Unique, Zig Zags, Ilfracombe Cinema, The Factory Store, Pedlars, Lloyds Chemist, The Discount Store, Normans, 7th Heaven, Pretty Bits, North Devon Arena, South West Comms and Tesco.
The winners of the Christmas Cake Decorating Competition were: Year 3 – Miena Challacombe 3CO, Year 4 – Riley Allsop 4JA, Year 5 – Ethan Bird 5KC and Year 6 – Kaiden Bowden 6AB.
We raised a massive £527.36 which will all be spent in our school.
