Fire Safety Talks for Year 5

Year 5 were visited by Cassandra, a firefighter, today. Cassandra taught us all about what can cause fires and how best to prevent them. She also discussed the dangers of hoax calls.

We learnt what to do if our clothes catch alight - STOP! DROP! and ROLL! - and discussed how to create an escape plan for our house.

We know feel more confident that we would know what to do if we were involved in a fire incident - thank you Cassandra.

'I learnt a lot of new things and I was reminded to test my smoke alarm once a month.' Harry Whiteford 5RM

'I liked practising 'stop, drop and roll' as it stopped it being so problematic and was a fun way to learn to protect ourselves.' Maya Cousins 5RM
