Today, 8th March 2022, is International Women’s Day. Across school, we looked at why this day is celebrated and recognised some women that fought for equal rights and inspired us.
Some children spoke about who inspired them and why:
'A woman who has inspired me is Sky Brown. She is 14 years old. She skateboards and surfs this inspires me to become a skateboarder and pursue it as a career.'
'My Nan inspired me because she was a Marie Curie nurse. This shows me that I can be anything as long as I set my mind to it.'
'My Mum inspired me because, after many years, she finally got the job she wanted. She showed me to never stop until you are happy.'
'Emma Raducanu inspired me because she is a tennis player and that’s what I want to be when I older.'
