Year 6 have been investigating light and how it travels. We know that light only travels in straight lines, that it doesn’t bend. It can however reflect off other objects. We have experimented by putting objects in dark boxes then shining a light in it from one side. This proved that, even if the light does not go directly into your eye, you can see the light reflecting off an object. We also investigated (making sure it was a fair test of course) the length of shadows related to the light source. We discovered the nearer the object was to the light source, the longer the shadow of the object was. We measured, recorded and graphed our findings.
