Learning About Our Hearts

Year 6 have been working out why we breathe hard and why our heart beats faster during exercise. We know the function of our heart, lungs, veins and arteries and the role of our red blood cells. We also know how they all work together and rely on each other. We have learnt the impact of a healthy diet and regularly exercising. We tested our knowledge by taking our resting heart rates then again after using a range of apparatus on our playground. We found which apparatus raised our heart rate the most and recorded how long it took to return to the resting heart rate. We recorded, tabled and graphed our results to present to others.
