North Devon Sinfonia Festival 2019

Our school was fortunate to welcome a professional trio to perform to 12 classes in the hall on Thursday 14th March.

This event was part of a bigger festival across the whole of North Devon, enabling children to develop their knowledge about classical music and to experience a professional, live performance by visiting musicians.

The Fidelio Piano Trio played a varied repertoire, some humorous pieces and others more emotional and dramatic, inspiring our children with their technical expertise on the piano, violin and cello.

During the question and answer session, we discovered that these three talented musicians have a career doing something they love, whilst also travelling the world.

Our children loved this one-hour concert – here are some of their thoughts:

“I really liked how the lady played the cello because she moved so elegantly while she performed.” Darcie 3CO

“I liked the diminuendo and the crescendo in the music because it made me feel like I was in a different world.” Lavender 3CO

“I like the way the players explained where they originated from, where their instruments were from, and how old these instruments were.” Zsa Zsa 5JC
