Orienteering in Year 5

In the final weeks of our Autumn term, Year 5 have been continuing to practice our Netball and Basketball skills. We have built up our understanding of the game to include matches, which incorporate all of the techniques we have learnt over the past 6 weeks. With 2 weeks to go before the Christmas break, Year 5 have started to look at Orienteering. We have been finding hidden markers around the school using grid references on a map. It has been brilliant to see the enthusiasm and excitement from the children as they go about deciphering coordinates as well as beginning to orient themselves in different locations and map-read more effectively!
