Viking Day in Year 5

Year 5 had a great time taking part in Viking Day just before the half term holiday. Our focus for the day was considering the question 'Would you rather have been a Viking raider or a Viking trader?' Activities included learning about the attacks on Lindisfarne and writing a newspaper report, designing and painting Viking shields and learning more about trading with a maths-related board game. The highlight, however, was our session in the forest schools area with the brilliant Mr Pearce who told Viking stories, built a fire and taught the children to make their own Viking bracelets.
