Viking for a Day in Year 5

Our Anglo-Saxon and Viking topic is sadly coming to an end. Your child has learnt so much about the way invaders and settlers travelled, lived and traded. We are all so very proud of the enthusiasm and enjoyment Year 5 have demonstrated while learning about Britain’s past.

As a way of bringing all of this learning together, we are holding a Viking Day on Tuesday 29th October.

To make the day more engaging, we do invite children to choose to come to school in a simple costume that represents the period of history. A simple black, brown or green t-shirt with an adults leather belt would go very well with school trousers / shirt. If you wish to send your child in a full costume that is fine but not required.

This is an option and is not a non-uniform day. Should your child not wish to take part, they will need to come in to school in school uniform as normal.

The focus of the day is bringing the term’s learning together.

If you have any questions, please contact your class teacher for further information. Thank you for your continued support.
