How close to 25?

This morning we made visual justifications to develop our approximate number system through a game. Each player had a set of coloured counters and had to roll a dice to fill a 25 square grid with their counters. The person with the most counters won. But before we counted them, we arranged the counters into visual representations to compare both quantities and show who had the most counters at the end of the round.

From looking at our representations, it made it easy to see who had won each round!

We finished by comparing some of the scores on the whiteboard using our less than and greater than symbols.
