A group of Year 6 students represented our school at this year’s North Devon schools sitting volleyball competition at Great Torrington School.
The teams consisted of up to six players per team and the rules are similar to real volleyball except everybody sits to play and has to shuffle around to move to the ball.
The day started off with a training session with the Great Torrington School sports leaders teaching the rules and practising the skills.
There were eight teams involved from six different schools, our team won all of their matches and played Sticklepath School in the final.
Ilfracombe Junior School are this year’s North Devon schools winners and will represent North Devon at the Devon Ability Games in February 2019.
A big well done to Sonny Ecclestone, Mikey Molloy, Kaiden Bowden, Lyla Hunt and Ruby Charlesworth.
