World Book Day

On Thursday 5th March children celebrated World Book Day. We had all sorts of characters arrive at school from historical figures, such as Boudica, to Where’s Wally and of course many witches and wizards hoping to be invited to Hogwarts!

Children celebrated the love of reading in year group assemblies and spent the afternoon working on a range of activities from books reviews to recreating their favourite book covers. As well as the excitement of dressing up as their favourite characters, children met with their buddy class to discuss what they love about reading and to share some of their favourite books.

At the end of the day, there was a book swap where children could exchange a book they have read for a new book to enjoy at home.
