Dear Parents & Carers
We have had a wonderful start to the year. I would like to pass on a huge thank you for all your help and support with the amazing World War 2 Home Learning Projects. The children presented them to the year group and our new Year 3 children in a big expedition. Their knowledge about life in Britain during WW2 and stories of family members was astonishing. Take a look at the photos on our new school website.
We are passionate about children being knowledgeable about the world we live in. Knowledge is the building blocks for the discussions of our topics. Please find overleaf a summary of the key knowledge your child will be taught this half term as they learn about a key turning point in British history: World War 2.
It would be wonderful if your child and whole family could discuss the information on the Knowledge Organiser, allowing them to really embed, use and practise using their new found knowledge. We hope this will allow them to reason, discuss and argue confidently from a knowledgeable place.
If you have any questions, then please do speak to your child’s teacher.
With kind regards,
Mrs Le Bredonchel
Head of Year 6
