Painting Ilfracombe Harbour

This term we have been looking at how artists use colour in their work to create contrast. Linking it to our topic this term which is all about the Mediterranean, we have been looking closely at landscape paintings of this area by Picasso and Seurat.

We started by painting an image of Ilfracombe harbour in our own style and by the end of the unit we will paint the same picture in either Picasso or Seurat’s style.

Who knows, maybe one day school children across the country will be painting Ilfracombe harbour in the style of one of our students!
